Currently there are no provincial label requirements to sell stuffed articles in any Canadian province. However, there are federal labeling requirements that apply to the entire nation of Canada. American Law Label ensures that your labels meet all Canadian requirements and specifications.

Required Information
Please have the following information ready before submitting your order:
  • Exterior fibers — The generic name of each fiber present in an amount of 5% or more must be stated as a percentage of the total fiber mass of the article. Generally, the fibers must be shown in order of predominance. Note that this is for the cover material or the textile used, not the fill material.
  • Dealer identity — For dealers based in Canada the label may bear a CA Number, which is an identification number obtained by applying to the Competition Bureau. This number will be registered for the exclusive use of the dealer. For those dealers without a CA Number, the dealer identity must be disclosed by identifying the name and full postal address under which the dealer carries out business.
  • Interior fibers — The fiber contents of linings, interlinings, paddings, or fillings added for warmth must be disclosed separately from, and following, other sections. The same is true for laminated or bonded linings and some textile fillings. For example, a winter jacket consisting of a cotton shell, polyester filling, and a structural nylon lining should be disclosed sectionally.
  • Other information — Canadian law labels may also include information such as care instructions. If the product has any label or marking that indicates it is imported, it must list the country of origin on the law label.
  • Language — Canadian law labels require information to be listed in both English and French.
